abstract = "Este trabalho avalia a din{\^a}mica da cobertura vegetal e da
ocupa{\c{c}}{\~a}o do solo da plan{\'{\i}}cie de
inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o do rio Paran{\'a} (regi{\~a}o de Porto
Rico - PR) entre 1987 e 2007. Algoritmos de
classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o MAXVER e ISOSEG foram utilizados em
cenas Landsat-5/TM de tr{\^e}s datas distintas: 14/03/1987,
09/10/1999 e 22/04/2007. Os resultados das
classifica{\c{c}}{\~o}es demonstram que houve aumento na
{\'a}rea de solo exposto no per{\'{\i}}odo de 1987 at{\'e}
1999 devido {\`a} ocupa{\c{c}}{\~a}o antr{\'o}pica. A
{\'a}rea de solo exposto observada na imagem de abril de 2007
deve-se {\`a} inunda{\c{c}}{\~a}o da plan{\'{\i}}cie ocorrida
nos meses de janeiro e fevereiro desse ano. Os valores do
{\'{\i}}ndice Kappa e de acur{\'a}cia global denotam que os
m{\'e}todos de classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o produziram resultados
semelhantes para a {\'a}rea do estudo. A
classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o MAXVER obteve maior efici{\^e}ncia na
classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o geral e a ISOSEG foi mais eficiente na
classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o de {\'a}reas {\'u}midas. ABSTRACT This
study evaluates the dynamics of vegetation and land cover of the
Upper Paran{\'a} River floodplain (region of Puerto Rico - PR)
between 1987 and 2007. Classifications using MAXVER and ISOSEG
algorithms were used in scenes Landsat-5/TM of three distinct
dates: 14/03/1987, 09/10/1999 and 22/04/2007. The results show an
increase in the area of bare soil between the period of 1987 to
1999 due to human occupation. The area of bare soil observed in
the image of april of 2007 reflects the flood that occurred in
january and february of that year. The Kappa index and global
accuracy denote that the both methods produced similar results to
the study area. The MAXVER classification presented greater
efficiency for the general classification, and ISOSEG has been
more efficient for the classification of wetlands.",
